Chris heads to the crossroads of the world in search of a legendary long-distance railway that played a crucial role in Turkey’s history. He travels from one of the busiest, most famous cities in the world, Istanbul, to one of the most remote and desolate, Kars, near the Armenian border. Along the way he’ll see some extraordinary engineering, harvest pigeon poo and uncover the story of the extraordinary national hero who used railways to unite the modern nation of Turkey.
